An Interchangeable Clamp System

for making structures,
fixtures and assemblies
using rods, tubes or pipes
in sizes 1/4" to 1" O.D.
Design as you build
Rotocon Assemblers are engineered for economy.  They reduce or eliminate tedious layout time.  Drilling, tapping and threading are completely eliminated.  Rotocon is a re-usable structural system which readily accommodates changing requirements.
Rotocon Assemblers are used extensively for research, development, experiment or products in the fields of chemistry, biology, physics, manufacturing, mechanics, photography, printing, binding and wherever a versatile structural application or need arises.
ALL AROUND GRIP

Rotocon Assemblers uniformly clamp all the way around thus providing maximum resistance to slip or torsion. One bolt and nut, engaging paired units, simultaneously tightens the assembly with never a broken set screw nor a damaged rod or tube to interfere with subsequent adjustment.

ADJUSTABILITY

The tooth faced edges of Rotocon assembler units mesh to form rigid joints at any 10-degree increment from 0 to 360 on small series (1/4 to 1/2"). The large series (1/2 to 1") can be set to any 15-degree increment. The nut nests within the unit and does not have to be held while tightening screw. The head of the screw can be located at either end. Rotocons make a neat joint with no protrusions.
SNAP-ON ASSEMBLY

All clamps in the large series feature snap-on design with no need to thread the clamp on the rod from the end to the desired position. These units snap on anywhere along the length of a rod or tube and fasten securely with all around grip as the fastening screw is tightened. Fixtures and additional mounting can be added to already assembled frames and structures without any disassembly. Strengthening or bracing can be added as needed.

Fittings are die-cast aluminum or zinc alloy and designed for 15-degree increments of adjustment. The SRTL's and CL are ordered in sets of 2 of the above clamps with one steel hex nut and one 3/8--16 x 2 3/4" socket head cap screw included. The SRTL's were formerly called SRT's but were changed to eliminate confusion with the smaller series of clamps.

All fittings in this small series are made of Zamak die-cast zinc alloy and are designed for 10-degree increments of adjustment. They are sold in sets and each set contains two clamps with one 1/4--20x1 1/2" slotted filister head steel screw with one 1/4--20 hex nut, nickel plated.
((THESE ARE IN
THE 1/2" SERIES)
All fittings in this series are made of injection molded LEXAN, a poly- carbonate resin and are designed for 10-degree increments of adjustment. Bolts and nuts are also made of LEXAN, thus allowing for non-electrical conductivity of connectors. Sold in sets of two clamps with one nut and one screw.

Rotocons assure strong, secure clamping without scoring or distorting tubes, rods or pipes. Any unit will pair with any other unit in its own size series whether metallic or non-metallic thus assuring complete interchangeability. When using a 1/2" rod or tube you can step-up or step-down from small series clamps to large series clamps or vice versa.
The combinations shown above are just a few of the many ways the various Rotocons can be assembled.
Air Nozzle Mount. An air line or blasting nozzle can be accurately and securely positioned to blast, eject finished parts from a work surface, keep the surface clean, etc. Illustration shows use of M-90, P-1/4 and AN-1/4 Rotocon units.
Typical distillation lattice illustrates use of one-inch series Rotocon units combined with one-half inch series Rotocon units.
Typical Caster Mount.  One-inch Rotocon series units make easy work of mounting casters and rollers for all types of structures
Basic Limit Switch With BX Connector Jump Off-End Off.  Rotocon assemblers provide the precise positioning, strength and infinite adjustability required for com-ponents of instrumentation and automation set-ups.
Regulator Mount.  Rotocon mounting base angles and P-1/4 units permit quick, easy assembly and positioning of regulators or similar equipment.
The use of Zamak (zinc alloy) and Lexan (poly-carbonate plastic) in combinations illustrated, provide an electrical break should a non-grounded structure be required.
Typical Jump Off-End Off, using M-90 Mounting Base Angles with an AN-1/4 Angle Nut at base for add-itional support.
Enclosed Limit Switch applied to M-90 Rotocon Base through pre-tapped holes one inch on centers.

Rotocon Assemblers Eliminate...
  • DESIGN AND FABRICATION TIME
  • COSTLY INSTALLATION
And Have Variable Degrees of Adjustment

ROTOCON ASSEMBLERS both SNAP-ON and SLIP-ON types eliminate costly design time, fabrication and installation of brackets which hold limit switches, electric eyes, servos, air nozzles, counters, relays, carriers and service units. Vibration will not dislocate assemblers, yet quick and accurate adjustments can be easily made.
Rotocon Assemblers "that hold"
Permanent distillation frames capable of holding enormous variety of apparatus and weight are readily assembled. Yet these frames are adaptable to change--SNAP-ON Rotocon Assemblers can be applied without disturbing the set up or the mounts attached. Aluminum, fiberglass and stainless steel tubes or rods can be used over and over as they will not score, jam or cause burrs.
ROTOCON ASSEMBLERS up to 1 inch O.D. allow easy placements of servo and carrier units over large spans and reasonably heavy accessories. Step-down from 1-inch series to 1/2-inch series is easily accomplished by use of  SRTL-1/2 in the 1-inch series to the RT-1/2 in the 1/2-inch series.

HOW TO MAKE ROTOCON CONNECTIONS

The SRTL Rotocon clamps connect in a similar manner and are interchangeable with other sized clamps in the one inch series. Basically, the side of the clamp without the meshing teeth is attached to the rod first. Before attaching, decide which side of the rod you will want the screw (or bolt) to be situated, then SNAP it in place with finger pressure. Then hook the part with meshing teeth over the lip of the SNAP-ON piece loosely holding it in place by inserting the bolt or screw. The mate to this clamp is attached to the connecting rod in a similar manner and, after selecting the proper angle of the two rods, secured in place with the bolt and nut. Tighten the bolt so that the rods are held in place without slipping. Then go to your next connection and attach it in a similar manner.
